Saw A Single Man today and I guess I was a bit underwhelmed. I think the film tried to emphasize the small but important moments in life, but something about it was off for me. I think these "moments" were done better in films like In the Mood For Love. Julianne Moore's drunk, depressed housewife character was tired. However, George's clinical despair and the exploration of hesitant flirtation were interesting to me, but in the end, not quite compelling enough I guess. It was an interesting role for Colin Firth and the mid-century modern aesthetic is always nice to look at, though. lksdjldjlfjds--sorry, it's always really difficult for me to organize my thoughts about films. I just kind of spout off things like this on the fly and am always afraid of sounding terribly un-knowledgable. NONETHELESS, here are my thoughts! CUZ WUTEVA, it's my blog.
