guadalupe gardens

I remember Julie  talking about cool places to take a date in your city of residence...Well, the Guadalupe Gardens in San Jose is a pretty decent place to spend an afternoon in San Jose.  There are some really cool flowers.  If you like photography, it's a cool place to go on a picture taking date.  Nick and I spent some time here one day ♥ I don't know why this spot isn't more popular...I guess because it is in a weird part of town, near the airport, old city hall, the traffic school, the court house...aka places one only goes if one has a good reason.

OK, so this isn't the actual garden but an empty lot across the street. There was also an old, discarded mattress mercifully excluded from this shot.  This is me in my new linen trench coat I got from old navy for like 7 bones, not a bad deal!

This picture is a poor representation of the pretty garden.

A crazy, awesome flower.  I wonder if this is natural or if it was bred to have these colors.  I've noticed at work some pretty crazy, awesome looking flowers.  Like calla lillies!  They come in all sorts of different colors now, including black, which looks pretty awesome.  I remember when I was a kid, they only came in original white.  It's sort of strange to think of strains (breeds? whatever) of flowers that didn't exist when I first existed.  Weird!  But anyway, seeing really interesting flowers at work makes me feel excited to someday have my own little home with my own garden.  I don't think I'll try to curate it to all go together or anything, but just have an amalgamation of all the flowers I think look cool.......and vegetables, for eating!

my sweetheart.
