snore in your sleep, go to jail. IT'S THE LAW

I know it's totally unfair, but on a very base level people who snore disgust me.  They are good at two things I've always had trouble with: sleeping and imposing upon others.  Something about snoring makes it impossible for me to sleep...the sound of phlegm moving through a stranger's throat over and over and over....and if there's a break in the rhythm, a sense of wonder at why the last snore disappeared.  While staying at a hostel in Portland, a couple came into the dorm room late at night.  Then, the girl proceeded to fall asleep and snore loudly the entire night.  Her boyfriend was an intermittent snorer as well.  Dear god, both of them!  I tried to sleep.  Couldn't.  I prayed that someone would wake up and slap the snoring girl.  I cursed myself for forgetting my earplugs in the car.  I made a sincere attempt to plug my ears with my socks.  I decided right then, in the dark, that they must be terrible people.
