skinnybones and i saw pavement at uc berkeley last night and unlike this photograph it was not underwhelming at all! they sound really amazing (poor, overused word but you know what i mean) live, far better than on the records. so far no really good sounding recordings have surfaced on youtube of this show...
it was an eclectic crowd: hipsters, college kids, middle aged people who were probably into pavement way back when that brought their six year old kids...... they played for over an hour and they played all the hitz (including a few songs with their original drummer!) so it really felt like it was worth the $50. not one of those reunion shows that leaves you feeling disappointed, at all!
I'LL STOP BRAGGING NOW.
