My mother sent me this card from her Alaskan cruise. I've always wanted to go on one myself. It seems like an easy way to see some of Alaska & I've never been on a cruise. Cruises are like the epitome of a lazy, hedonistic vacation. You just laze around and eat eat eat. Some day....
Actually, Nick and I are hoping to drive to Alaska during our trip, if we can manage to get some passport stuff sorted out. I hope so! I'll be so disappointed if we have to cut Alaska & Canada out of our itinerary.
Anyway, for the curious, we're currently in Santa Barbara, California staying with Nick's brother around the UCSB campus. He lives right by the beach!

I lived in Santa Barbara in my early 20s and my brother and his wife went to UCSB. Love it there! It's such a beautiful city and the campus is fantastic. Hope you're having fun!

My parent's went on an Alaskan cruise and had the most glorious time. My mom actually ended up winning $2,000 while playing bingo, haha! Their photographs definitely made me yearn to take a trip there.
